Fun Size Trending Topics September 23, 2021. His Name? St. Dangerous Of Course CD929

We just want to keep you posted on what’s coming up in music and what’s going on at the station. There’s usually quite a lot. Welcome to What’s Up Wednesdays.

 Friday Album Releases:

  • Post Malone’s Austin comes out Friday. Titled for Post Malone’s real first name, Austin features his usual mastery of multiple genres if the singles are any indication. Though Malone worked with other producers like longtime collaborator Louis Bell and Andrew Wyatt, Austin is his first album to not feature any collaborations.
  • The Clientele release I Am Not There Anymore, a jangly, psychadelic album with summer vibes that serves as the band’s first album in nearly six years.
  • Bethany Constentino of Best Coast releases her first solo album Natural Disaster. Constentino startled some fans in May when she announced that Best Coast was going on indefinite hiatus as she sought to find her own identity outside of the group.
  • Dexy’s (or Dexy’s Midnight Runners) are releasing their sixth studio album The Feminine Divine.
Editor’s note: I don’t know what I was listening to when the video for “I’m Going to Get Free” came up. All I know are two things: 1) I didn’t know until then that Dexy’s was still an active band until seeing that video and 2) It’s a really good song. Definitely worth checking the album out, I reckon.
  • How about another band that’s been active for 30+ years releasing their sixth album? That’s right, Brad are unleashing In the Moment That You’re Born on Friday.
