We just want to keep you posted on what’s coming up in music and what’s going on at the station. There’s usually quite a lot. Welcome to What’s Up Wednesdays.

 Friday Album Releases:

  • Olivia Rodrigo is set to release her follow-up album to 2021’s Sour. Guts features the already-released singles “Vampire” and “Bad Idea Right?” as well as ten other tracks written by Rodrigo (producer Dan Nigro receives a co-writing credit on just one other song).
  • Courtney Barnett releases End of the Day, music from the film Anonymous Club- her first soundscape instrumental album, and her final record on Milk! Records.
  • Long-delayed Sparklehorse album Bird Machine will finally see the light of day. The album was recorded prior to Mark Linkous’ suicide in 2010, at which point it was shelved.
  • Friday sees the fifth album release from supergroup Angel Du$t. Brand New Soul was previewed with the single release of singles “Space Jam” and “Very Aggressive”/”Love Slam.”
  • For That Beautiful Feeling from Chemical Brothers releases ahead of the upcoming book of interviews Paused in Cosmic Reflection (out October 26th).
  • Joan Osborne brings us a socially-conscious album, Nobody Owns You.
  • The String Cheese Incident release their first album in six years, Lend Me a Hand just as their tour kicks off in Raleigh, North Carolina.
  • Tyler Childers previewed his entire Rustin’ in the Rain album at The Grand Ol’ Opry on Monday. The common folk can listen to it when it releases on Friday.
