Guest; Brandon Feller, President United Way of Delaware County Ohio.
New service to help with the population of about 400 18-24 year olds that have no one to help them and nowhere to live. They have been working for years trying to find a solution for this population, just a few nights in a shelter is not enough. They need a stable home environment and training in many things like financial literacy, well being and more. The United Way Young Adult transitioning Program provides this for those adults. They purchased a home in the college campus area and within walking distance of downtown where they can find jobs. There are coaches in the home 24/7 to help with any concerns or needs the residents may have.
Plus we talk to him about the Family Services in Willis center for k-12 and their parents needs. And the Delaware Hunger Alliance food pantries, also run by United Way.
